Julia Child I Am Not

I will be the first person to admit that I am not a cook.

Birddog would be the second person to admit that fact.

I love to look at the recipes on Smitten Kitchen and I entertain the fact of trying to make one of Deb's recipes one day. The simple fact is, if it has more than a handful of ingredients, the chances are slim that I will make it. I look for QUICK and EASY recipes and when I don’t find them, I get frustrated…….and then I just make spaghetti again.

Poor Birddog is tired of pasta……..so here is your chance to help him. I have listed below one of my favorite EASY recipes, Italian Roast Sandwiches. In exchange, I would love for you to send me one of your EASY recipes. You can post it in the comments for everyone to share or email it to me at Heather dot Garton at yahoo dot com.

Please keep in mind, this is not a recipe for sissies. If you get heartburn easily, I would not attempt this recipe. On the other hand, it can be toned down with less spicy peppers.

Italian Roast Sandwiches

Ingredients:
Beef Roast
One large jar peppercini peppers
One pkg McCormick’s dry Italian seasoning
Sliced Mozzarella Cheese
Deli rolls or hoagie buns

Directions:
Place roast in crock pot.
Sprinkle McCormick’s Italian seasoning on top of roast
Dump jar of peppercinis including the juice into the crock pot
Add barely enough water to cover roast
Cook on low until roast is done. (The longer, the better!)
Serve the meat on deli rolls with mozzarella cheese.
(I usually put some of the peppers on my sandwich too! YUM!)

So what is your EASY recipe???

Why add water? I don't, it makes it's own juice. I also like to put thinly sliced green bell papper and thinly sliced onions on my sandwich. Love ya, Mom

Cooking? Are we actually supposed to do that? This week's menu at Chez Shortymom consists of chicken nuggets, tacos, chicken stirfry (kids responses will be ewwww!!!!), and if they're really lucky I'll make them homemade popcorn chicken. Lots of luck to ya!

I cross my heart, I thought your mom gave that recipe to my mom years ago. We love it at our house.

BTW, I have my own blog now. Follow the link. I'm not really very good at being entertaining or posting regular updates, but whatever.
