Sick Yet Again

I spent the majority of my weekend in the same position as the baby……..the fetal position. A nasty virus snuck up on me Friday morning and reared its ugly head around lunch time. I spent my entire weekend laying down and trying to sleep.

After a frantic call to my doctor and a late night emergency trip to Walgreens by Tobilee, I got a dose of a prescription that made the nausea disappear. One of the cool things that the doctor said was that I didn’t need to worry about eating if I didn’t feel like it. The baby only needs two calories a day right now and it would take the calories before my body did.

How cool is that? Two calories a day! That is like a supermodel diet.

On a positive note, Kyle is still in perfect health. Every time that I would leave a room, he would douse the area with Lysol. He avoided me completely by staying in his office and only coming out for food, bathroom breaks and to check if I was breathing. I love my paranoid hypochondriac husband!

I am still not feeling up to par today, but at least I can sit upright and pretend to function normally. Hopefully I will feel much better tomorrow.

First Professional Photo Session

Birddog Quote Of The Day

While I am filling out paperwork at the OBGYN waiting room, Birddog is checking out Christina Aguilera's baby in the new issue of People. (I think that he was looking more at Christina than the baby.)

"Babe, do you have any history of birth defects or abnormalities in you family?"

"Just weird hair"

Carolina On My Mind

You look like a monkey and you smell like one too!
Happy Birthday Sweet Caroline!
Good times never seem so good!

Ice Ice Baby

My cousin that works for the electric company has been a busy fella! He sent a few pictures to show the damage from the ice storm that just passed. I love the vibrant color of the street sign, cones and workers against the stark icey background. What a wonderful picture!

Super Sunday

There were no Ninja Karate Vampires at this year's Superbowl gathering, but we had a good time anyway. Donna's house always filled with good food and good friends. We all tend to watch more commercials than football.
(As an added bonus to all the fun, Penny and Marley did the ring test and determined that I will have a baby boy.)

In A Child's Eyes

Angela, our neighbor's granddaughter, is so excited that we are having a baby. She drew this picture of our family for us and brought it over as soon as she heard the news. If you cannot tell, it is of me, Kyle, Jake, Elwood and our house. If you look closely, you can see the baby in my tummy!

Double The Fun?

Congratulations usually follow when someone finds out that we are expecting our first child. There are all the questions that I enjoy answering now, but inevitably know that I will hate answering again and again and again and again.

My friend Joel was not the first to ask if I could be carrying twins. Truth be told, there is a chance that it might be twins. Twins are in my family tree on both sides and there are distant cousins in my generation that have had twins. Almost everyone would love for it to be twins, except for maybe the person that would have to exert both babies from her body.

But I have to admit, after seeing pictures of Joel’s twin sons…..it almost makes me think differently. Connor and Ryan are the spitting image of their dad……and cute as a button!
