The 'New' Hasn't Worn Off Yet

When I moved to Nashville, I vowed that I was going to take full advantage of my new city. I was going to see and do all the wonderful things that the ‘city folk’ did. I wanted to soak in the culture and history of Nashville. Well, here I am seven years later and I haven’t even gotten close to finishing my list.

Here are a few of the local things that I would LOVE to do:

Visit the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere
Steal somebody’s kid and go to the
Adventure Science Center
Spend an afternoon at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts
(especially while they still have the Modern Masters Exhibit displayed)
Watch the horses run at the
Iroquoise Steeplechase
Go to the Grand Ole Opry when it returns to the Ryman
Visit Belle Meade Plantation for their Fall Festival
Head to Portland for the
Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival
Drive the full
Natchez Trace Parkway
Take the Living History Tour at the
Nashville City Cemetery
Take the
NashTrash Tour in the big pink bus
Venture to Bell Buckle for the
Annual RC & Moonpie Festival
Take the
Downtown Nashville Ghost Tour
Hike to Fall Creek Falls
Get lost in the gardens at the
Hermitage
Go to a song writers night at the Bluebird Café
Visit the
Hatch Show Print
Tour the
Country Music Hall of Fame
Revisit Cheekwood Botanical Gardens
Spend a Saturday at Beachhaven Jazz on the Lawn
Eat some really-bad-for-me food at the
Tennessee State Fair

I know that alot of these things seem 'touristy' but I would still LOVE to do each and every one! Any takers? Who wants to go with me? C’mon, it will be fun!

I'm game for the ghost tour!! I love stuff like that! Belle is headed to the science museum at the end of this month, the 28th I think, on a field trip with her 3rd grade class. Bryce went last year and loved it! We've been trying to get to the zoo the last three years and came to Nashville last May and took the kids to a Sounds game instead. Maybe this year..

I want to go to the Iroquoise Steeplechase. It's May 10th! :) Would enjoy the ghost tour, too.

The Hermitage is beautiful. & the Bluebird Cafe is awesome. Have to go on a night when they do the Round.

I am down for the science museum. I went several times when I was a kid- it used to be the thing I loooked forward to every summer and Ava has not been yet!! And Fall Creek Falls is super awesome. When you kick the mini-out, you should Get David to take you rappelling out there. That is totally his "thing"!
