Busy As A Bee!

Today, I am 35 weeks and 2 days pregnant……….and I REALLY feel pregnant. I can’t blame anyone but myself though. I really overdid things this weekend. That is what I get for not using the word “NO” enough.

Friday night was an exception to the rule. I was really good because I knew that I had a busy weekend ahead. I stayed at home, mainly on the couch. I did finish all of my thank you notes for the baby shower, which is a huge relief. But that made me want to go into the nursery and unpack and sort more things.

Saturday afternoon, after a vigorous morning of cleaning house, Birddog and I ventured to the land of Belle Meade for a wedding shower luau for his cousin. It was really a cute shower! The food was really good and the decorations were awesome. We even got a lei as our nametag. Courtney and Patrick got lots of wonderful gifts and a good time was had by all! We didn’t stay long after the presents were unwrapped, because pregnant chick + hot muggy afternoon = big swollen knankles. For those of you that have been wanting a preggo picture, here is one from the party:

Sunday was a jam-packed, but fun-filled day. After church, I had lunch at Granny Garton’s house with the family. Mmmmm….meatloaf! Then the parties really started! First I got to attend Ava’s birthday party! She turned the big zero-three with a bang…..she got a HUGE swing set! She received several Barbies, lots of books, a super-cool sleeping bag and a beautiful print with her name on it. Someone even got her a little electric drum machine……….Birddog will have to go teach her a song or two now that he knows the ‘days of the week’ song on the guitar.

After the birthday bash, I met up with Kelly because we were invited to the Cross Point Volunteer Appreciation Gala. Awesome is the only word to describe it. I was blown away! Once a year, the staff of CP get together to honor everyone that has volunteered at the church. There were over 520 people that were there! A few weeks ago, I did a video for RadioShackin' and Chad that was shown at the dinner. It was really weird seeing my face HUGE on the screen, but it was an honor to be chosen! I will post the video when I find the link.

In the mean time, check out some of the other bloggers that attended the Gala:

The Waxy One did a little behind-the-scene footage.

I finally got to meet BrandiAndBoys. She is super sweet!

I didn't know Full Of Boys was there or I would have hunted her down.

Jenni could not have looked prettier!

Radio Shakin’ did a wonderful job with the media!

I can remember those last few weeks...first thinking that I didn't want to do anything and coupled with the idea of knowing I would not be able to do much after the baby arrived!

We must meet soon!

I saw the video at the volunteer event in Nashville. Just wanted to say that YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL! YOU were beautiful! YOUR STORY was beautiful!
